These Terms of Service ("Terms") explain the rules for using Stitch & Crochet ("we", "us", "our"), available at stitchandcrochet.com (the "Website"). By using the Website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.

The short version

  • Our patterns are free for your personal use.
  • You may sell the items you make from our patterns (small, handmade quantities).
  • You may not copy, share, translate or sell the patterns, text or photos themselves.
  • Please share a link to the pattern instead of copying it.
  • We work hard to make our patterns accurate, but we can't guarantee they are free of mistakes.

1. Using the Website

You may use the Website for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

  • break any law or the rights of others while using the Website;
  • try to hack, disrupt, overload or gain unauthorized access to the Website or its systems;
  • use bots, scrapers or other automated tools to copy content from the Website;
  • send spam, harmful code or abusive messages through our forms.

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EU) to sign up for the newsletter or contact us. Younger visitors should use the Website with a parent or guardian.

2. Our patterns and content

All content on the Website – including patterns, written instructions, photos, images, graphics, logos and the design of the site – is owned by Stitch & Crochet and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

What you can do

  • Read, download and print patterns for your own personal use.
  • Make as many items as you like from our patterns for yourself, as gifts or for charity.
  • Sell finished items you have made by hand from our patterns, in small quantities (for example at craft fairs or in a small online shop). We kindly ask that you credit Stitch & Crochet as the pattern designer and include a link to stitchandcrochet.com.
  • Share photos of your finished makes on social media – we'd love to see them! Please link to the original pattern.

What you can't do

  • Copy, republish, translate or share our written patterns, in full or in part, on other websites, social media, groups, videos or printed materials.
  • Sell, give away or distribute our patterns, including as PDFs, printouts or kits.
  • Use our photos or images to sell your own items or promote your own business.
  • Claim our patterns or designs as your own.
  • Mass-produce items from our patterns in a factory or commercial setting.
  • Use our content to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

If you'd like to use our content in a way not allowed here, please ask us first.

3. Pattern accuracy and results

We test our patterns carefully, but mistakes can happen. Your finished item may also look different from ours because of your yarn, hook, tension or skill level. Patterns are provided "as is", and we are not responsible for the cost of yarn or materials, or for results that don't match your expectations. If you find an error, please let us know so we can fix it.

4. Safety

You are responsible for making and using your crochet items safely. In particular:

  • Baby and children's items: avoid small parts such as buttons, beads or loose ribbons that could come off and become a choking hazard. Always supervise babies and young children with handmade items.
  • Home items: keep crochet items away from open flames and heat sources.
  • Items you sell: if you sell items made from our patterns, you are responsible for following any product safety and labeling laws in your country.

5. Messages you send us

When you contact us or share feedback, you confirm that what you send is your own and doesn't break any law. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them to improve the Website without owing you anything. We handle your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.

The Website may contain links to other websites, such as yarn shops or tutorials. We don't control those websites and are not responsible for their content, products or privacy practices. Some links may be affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We will always make this clear.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Website and all content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Website will always be available, secure or free of errors.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Stitch & Crochet is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss of materials, time or money, arising from your use of the Website or our patterns. Some countries do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.

9. Your responsibility

You agree to be responsible for, and to protect Stitch & Crochet from, any claims that arise from your misuse of the Website, your breach of these Terms, or items you make and sell using our patterns.

10. Suspension of access

We may limit or block access to the Website for anyone who breaks these Terms or misuses the Website, without notice.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. By continuing to use the Website after changes are posted, you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which Stitch & Crochet is operated, without regard to its conflict of law rules. If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect.
